The war between Aurangzeb and Sambhaji Maharaj was not dharma sangharsh(religious war).It was Satta sangharsh (politics). Shivaji Maharaj and Sambhaji Maharaj never discriminated between any religion or caste.Marathas had always respected Muslim and other religions. You are wrong . Sambhaji exhorted the Hindu rulers to unite under the Maratha banner to fight against the religious oppression perpetuated by Aurangzeb . Yes , Maratha army had few Muslim soldiers , but Muslims were never offered important posts. It was a dharma yudha . To not acknowledge as so , would be tantamount to falsifying history .
